Industrial Engineering Day

The Industrial Engineering Day is an event organized by the Department of Industrial Engineering to connect its students with companies.

The 2025 edition took place on 11 and 12 November 2025.

Seminar series for students of the Department of Industrial Engineering

  • Tech Talks – Companies meet Engineering students: a seminar series from 22 April to 27 May 2026, which offers the possibility to obtain 1 CFU for students enrolled in the Department’s degree programmes who attend at least 4 meetings.
  • Software Environments Courses, scheduled for summer 2026: 1 CFU will be awarded upon attendance and successful completion of the final assessment for two courses.

Seminar series for students of the Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering

La professione dell'ingegnere nell'industria moderna: a seminar series from 4 March to 15 April 2026, which offers 1 CFU for students enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. The series is organized in collaboration with the Order of Engineers of the Province of Trento. Note: the credit will not be awarded to students who have already obtained this CFU during their Bachelor’s degree.

Activities for Master's Degree students of the Department

International Webinars – Topics in Cell and Tissue Engineering: an online seminar series offered during the academic years 2025/26 and 2026/27. 1 CFU will be awarded to Master’s Degree students of the Department who attend at least 8 seminars and submit a short abstract via the provided link.

Summer and Winter Schools

At the moment, there are no summer or winter schools offering credits.

Activities in collaboration with other Departments

The Department of Industrial Engineering, in collaboration with the Department of Economics and Management (DEM) and within the European project CIRCVET, offers the seminar series Circular Economy and Sustainability in the Plastics Industry, which awards 3 CFU to students enrolled in the Department’s Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree programmes.
To obtain the credits, the following requirements must be met: certified attendance of at least 18 out of 24 hours; completion of the assigned homeworks; submission of a final paper that will be evaluated.
The seminars are usually held during the second semester at the Povo campus.

Activities in collaboration with external organizations

  • HIT – Proto Challenge, spring 2026: 3 CFU for all students;
  • HIT – Industrial & Public AI Challenge, 29 September - 16 December 2025: 3 CFU for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree students;
  • IMechE – Speak Out for Engineering (SOFE) International Public Speaking Contest, 5 December 2025: 1 CFU for students who achieve at least 60 points. Requirements: enrolment in the 3rd year of the Bachelor’s Degree or in one of the Department’s Master’s Degree programmes.

Other activities

E-Agle Trento Racing Team is a racing team composed entirely of university students, whose goal is to participate in the Formula SAE International competition, where some of the most prestigious universities in the world compete. The competition takes place on international racetracks and involves student teams designing and building a race car. The team is open to students from all Departments of the University of Trento, depending on the specific skills required for the team’s activities.
Students from the Department of Industrial Engineering selected for the Formula SAE project may include this activity among the elective courses in their study plan.
