Considering the characterization laboratory the activity about the corrosion study the characteristics and properties of corrosion-protection systems are evaluated. In particular coatings (metal, ceramic organic, enamels) both traditional and innovative deposited both on panels and industrial components are considered. The performance of surface treatments are also evaluated. Microstructural analysis, hardness testing, thickness and roughness measurements, bending and cupping test, color change and gloss are carried out. The mechanical degradation of surface and surface layers (Taber test and abrasive falling sand) and accelerated aging (salt spray test, Kesternich, UV radiation exposure and testing xenon, climatic tests) are considered. In addition, the aesthetic properties-perceptual of surface are evaluated.
