UniTrento DII and IIT Delhi sign Memorandum of Understanding to foster international collaboration

On May 8th, the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Trento officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (DMSE) at IIT Delhi, one of the leading research institutes in Asia and worldwide.

The event brought together around 30 students, researchers, and faculty members, also attracting the interest of colleagues from the Department of Physics, the Department of Civil, environmental and mechanical engineering, FBK Fondazione Bruno Kessler and CNR - Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche.

The program included presentations of research and teaching activities at DMSE-IIT Delhi, the formal signing ceremony, and scientific seminars on advanced materials and computational modeling.

In addition to the formal signature, the 2-day visit by the Indian delegation (Prof. Jayant Jain and Prof. Abhishek Sarkar) enabled us to discuss future collaborations with the delegates for didactic, international relations, and research (Prof. Fontanelli, Rustighi and Benedetti).

The visit has been very fruitful, establishing the framework for research and academic collaboration from the short term to the medium term. Several common grounds were found to establish collaborations between researchers from materials science to material mechanics. Joint research events, like a series of online joint webinars, have been discussed.
