The goal of this laboratory is to formally join some of the different subjects in the mechatronic domain, more precisely Electronics, Modelling, Automatic Control and Measurement Theory, and define a common space where selected master students, students working on their thesis and doctoral students can share with the same focus of autonomous distributed systems. The rationale is to give the students of the Industrial Engineering course the possibility to develop a horizontal multidisciplinary view of the engineering word, which is in our opinion nowadays a must in the job market. Based on this idea, a part of the laboratory is devoted to code fast prototyping and automatic generation, which is a hot topic for high tech industries. In the lab, a small experimental area will be used for small-scale distributed systems (academic robots, IoT platforms, networked distributed sensors and systems) and then to rely on the Laboratory at the BIC in Pergine as a larger test area for large robots and/or larger numbers.
