The activities regard materials and methods for biomedical engineering applications, and in particular production, modification and physical/biological characterization of materials to be used for prosthetic devices. Moreover materials and methods for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. i.e., able to simulate and guide the spontaneous regeneration of tissue and organs, are investigated. Particular attention is directed in the last years to the use of natural origin materials, thanks to their bioactive properties that could stimulate differentiation, proliferation and cellular activity, to the production of cell seeded constructs through 3D printing techniques and to the validation of cell cultures in dynamic conditions.
